| 10.06.2010 - Ironman Allocates $100,000 for Donation Toward Gulf Coast Oil Spill Relief |
 June 8, 2010 (Tampa, Fla.) – World Triathlon Corporation, owner of the global Ironman Triathlon Series, announces its contribution to the oil spill relief effort in the Gulf of Mexico. The Ironman Foundation, the company’s charitable arm, has earmarked a total of $100,000 to support the efforts and its first donation of $25,000 will be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, an organization that has been instrumental in assisting those affected by the oil spill in the state of Louisiana. Ironman, headquartered off Florida’s West coast, plans to offer additional assistance to related organizations in the coming weeks.

 German Michael Raelert wins at the PowerBar Ironman 70.3 Switzerland and sends –off the Swiss Ronnie Schildknecht and Olivier Marceau. Leading after the swimming, Michael has pushed his way up on the rolling bike course and stretched the winning margin. Two minutes ahead of Ronnie and Olivier he entered the transition zone and went onto the run course. Feeling strong he continuously picked up the pace. Although the Swiss battled hard, they did not manage to out run leader Michael, who has won in 3:47.47. Second became Ronnie Schildknecht (3:54.29) and third former short distance world champion Olivier Marceau (3:55.16).

Sharp at 8.55 the 4th PowerBar Ironman 70.3 Switzerland in Rapperswil-Jona started. 2’250 athletes from 47 different nations will be swimmig, biking and running on 70.3 miles through the region Obersee. This is happening with blue sky and nice temperature; perfect conditions for a great competition. The temperature of the water is 17,8 right now.

 In the past ironman events around the globe have been subject of thiefery. As a consequence we improved our security precautions on-site:
* Photographs will be taken of each athlete and bike at the check-in and at the check-out. We kindly ask all participants to tag your bike and helmut with your number and to keep the bib number ready.
* The transition zone will be under video surveillance.
* Check-out of the bike starts on Sunday at 4.30 p.m.
Attention: As you are responsible for your belongings, we strongly recommend you to keep your bike locked all the time. |

 * New: the age group women (all categories) start now at 9.00 a.m.. Consequently all the starts of the age groups men are 20 minutes delayed.
* Due to some changes in the routing, the swim exit is now the port area.
* The direction of the run course has been changed.
* As a result of the new routing we have made some adjustments at the aid stations.
* The PowerBar Ironman 70.3 Switzerland will issue 75 starting slots for the Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater (Florida, USA).

 Ironman Europe Headquarter reacts quickly and offers goodwill solution.
Next weekend the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa takes place in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. About 200 athletes are affected as a result of the flight cancellations due to the volcano that erupted in Iceland a few days ago. European Ironman organizers are offering a goodwill solution to stranded athletes.

| 13.04.2010 - Ironman announces additional paratriathlon opportunities within 70.3 series |
 Today, World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), owner and organizer of the Ironman & Ironman 70.3 Event Series, announces a lottery for paratriathletes who wish to compete in the 2010 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3, Presented by Ford. Also new for this year, the Buffalo Springs Lake Ironman 70.3 and Ironman 70.3 Antwerp events will now serve as official 70.3 World Championship qualifiers for handcycle (HC) athletes. Each race will include 3 slots; 2 for males and 1 for females. Both the lottery and handcycle qualifying opportunities are consistent with programs in place for the Ford Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.
“Given the growth of the 70.3 Series and participation by the paratriathlete community, Ironman recognizes the need to implement a Paratriathlon Lottery for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3,” said Joanna Meyers, event director. “This program demonstrates our ongoing commitment to offer more opportunities to paratriathletes.”
Athlete selection for the lottery program will come from applicants worldwide who fit one of Ironman’s official paratriathlon competition categories:

 Today, World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) announces an addition to its expanding event calendar. Ironman 70.3 San Juan will take place on March 19, 2011, on the picturesque Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. The event is part of the Ironman 70.3 Series that now includes 46 races worldwide and will serve as a qualifier for the 2011 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3, Presented by Ford.

 2,050 athletes of 35 different nations have registered for the PowerBar IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND in Rapperswil-jona on the 6th June 2010. As a consequence the event is 90% booked. In total we will admit 2,250 participants to the competition next June.

 The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) goes new ways in fighting the doping abuse. What remains desirable in other sports has become reality in triathlon. Not long ago, the WTC has launched a new anti-doping initiative by which the professional athletes as well as the best amateurs might be tested in their trainings following the random sampling principle as well as on the competition day. The tests will be coordinated by independent organizations such as the WADA and the national anti-doping agencies.

| 08.06.2009 - Double Swiss victory at the IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND |
 2'200 athletes from 49 nations started today at the third IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND 2009 in Rapperswil-Jona. The favourite and titleholder Ronnie Schildknecht has been able to catch up with the spearhead after only 10 km and get a lead of nearly 4 over rank two Mike Aigroz. With a solid race, he was able to get his way against a world class block and celebrated his third victory (3:54.30,1). As for the women, the short distance specialist Sarah Schütz from Dübendorf won the race (4:28.26,8). The favourite Karin Thürig caught up brilliantly in the bike race until rank three and also showed a strong performance in the run race (4:.35.03,3).

 After an exciting head-to-head race with Konstantin Bachor (GER) Ronnie Schildknecht won the second IRONMAN 70.3 SWITZERLAND in 3:51.45 in Rapperswil-Jona. The decision fell in the second lap of the run course when he was able to leave his opponents behind.
