Age Groups and Qualification for the World Championships
The PowerBar Ironman 70.3 Switzerland will issue 50 starting slots for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 which will be held in the United States in Fall 2011.
The qualification attained is only valid for the World Championship of the same year. Because not all athletes who have the right for a starting slot can or wish to start at the World Championship, the slots in the various age groups will be shifted downwards until the last qualification slot has been issued. The organiser, resp. the WTC (World Triathlon Corporation) retains the final right of decision concerning the issuing of qualification slots.
The allocation of the slots in categories is dependant on the number of the actual bookings and is definitive only upon receipt of the last registrations.
The slots for Professional athletes will only be allocated to athletes who cross the finish line within +5% of the time of the winning athlete.
